Rugby World Cup 2015
Power and Data Infrastructure at Media Zone - Kingsholm Stadium, Gloucester
The 2015 Rugby World Cup was the eighth Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial rugby union world championship. The tournament was hosted by England from 18 September to 31 October. New Zealand won the cup over runners-up Australia, with South Africa defeating Argentina to take third place.
Figure of Eight were delighted to be awarded the supply of temporary electrical outlets and data points for the double deck temporary media structure at Kingsholm Stadium, Gloucester. We provided over 200 of 13A sockets, 100 of CAT6 data points with several kilometres of cabling and rigging facilities for the host broadcaster.
"We were able to deploy our plug and socket media desk system which uses the highly reliable Neutrik Powercon system to ensure quick, neat and reliable power and data to the 200 media desks. Points could easily be added or changed unlike a conventional hard wired system" commented project manager, Rich Rayner. "We were really pleased to be involved in the project which saw us also provide generators, cabling, distribution and rigging for many other projects in other locations simultaneously".
